There is a children's book by Mercer Mayer called Just Me and My Dad. We've read it MANY times over the years, along with other Little Critter stories. Thursday was a special day for Cameron. It was his day to have his dad all to himself. Mike had the day off of work, and Cameron was so excited to take a day off of school. They packed a lunch and loaded up the fishing gear, leaving after breakfast. Mike wanted to explore some fishing areas nearby (an hour or so away). They went to Enterprise and first fished at the upper reservoir. They didn't catch anything there. Then, they went to "another place," the lower reservoir, where Cameron caught a Rainbow fish. There were "all kinds of bites" there. That was fun, but the fish were hard to catch. Cameron said they went under a bridge and saw tons of bird huts that the birds had made and lived in; hundreds of them. At Pine Valley Lake, they fished some more and "dad caught one." It snowed on them there. (BURRR) They had a great time, but it was cold there. It was beautiful and definitely a place they want to return to someday. Cameron told of seeing water coming over a dam because the water was so high. That was pretty cool. They headed home just before dinner time and Mike told Cameron he could have a treat. Cameron decided he wanted a kid's meal from Wendy's. He savored the soda and Frosty long after he got home, trying to making sure the rest of us noticed his good fortune. He had a great day with his dad and we were all happy they were able to spend some quality time together; just Cameron and Dad.
