Pinewood Derby 2012

Friday, March 30th was the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. Mike helped Cameron make his car, which took second place overall. The cultural hall was awesomely decorated and the spectators had water and freshly popped popcorn available to munch on during the races. There was even a corner set up for the young children to play cars at. The scout leaders did a GREAT job and it was fun to be there. CAMERON earned a "golden ticket" allowing him to participate in the region Pinewood Derby.

Cameron's car is the red one...

The boys were each given a driver's license when they weighed in their cars before the race started. Each car had to weigh in at 5ozs. or less. Cameron was right on!

WOW! Cameron went home with quite the winnings...

At the end of the Derby everyone who wanted a treat was able to get one from the refreshment table (they were also made to look like little cars).
