The boys with their guide, Richie Clayton
Richie was their hunting guide. He woke up at 4:00a.m. and by the time the boys woke at 5:30a.m., the horses were already ready for the day. They headed to where they were going to "hunt" and got on their horses. Trevon's horse was named Ebony and was 34 years old (Most horses usually stop carrying riders around 20 years of age.)!Fifteen minutes down the trail, the dogs picked up the track and the chase began. It took nearly 5 hours and 7 to 8 miles to tree the lion.
Trevon really enjoyed his time on the horse. He says that he would like to own a horse of his own someday, and explore uninhabited areas of wilderness with it.
After taking some pictures, they headed back out and then drove the 3 1/2 hours home (with a sore rear-end after having been in a saddle all day). It was a great adventure!
